The
Texas Choral Consort's 50-voice ensemble had an exciting Christmas season in
2005. In addition to appearances for the debut of the Twilight Concert Series in
Villa Antonia of Lake Travis, TX (which sold out) and for the Tree-Lighting
ceremony at the State Capitol, TCC also gave three sold-out performances
in the beautiful Renaissance-style Central Christian Church on 11th and
Guadalupe. All the appearances presented an enriching program of mostly
English Christmas music, featuring Vaughan Williams’ A
Fantasia on Christmas Carols, Healey Willan's Hodie,
Christus natus est and Here Are We in Bethlehem; Samuel
Barber's Agnus Dei, Benjamin Britten's A Hymn to the Virgin
and other a cappella selections from the 18th to the 20th centuries.
